In room dining at Shang Bangkok

I got quite tired after walking between the hotel and Asiatique. And so I decided to reward myself for taking more than 10,000 steps with one of our ideas for a comfort meal. I ordered some Indian food for in-room dining. Shangri-La makes a good chicken tikka and this came with basmati rice and roti. The servings were quite generous so I ended up working while eating just so I can also sustain my writing.

In-room dining for the night
The Shang's kitchens are quite consistent with this item on their menus as we've enjoyed this in several of the Shangri-la's we've stayed at so far. We'll probably order this again the next time the occasion calls for in-room dining.

Hossein, Serendra, BGC

We had a craving for Indian food one Saturday. We ended up going at Hossein at Serendra in Bonifacion Global City. We had wanted to try out the restaurant as we missed eating kebabs and curry but we kept on putting it off as we didn't know if our daughter would like this food. Since our favorite Indian restaurant closed shop a few years ago, we had tried several restaurants for our tandooris, tikkas, kebabs and other dishes we enjoyed.

Menu
Hummus
Chicken tikka
Shish kebab
Basmati rice
I also had lassi to go with our food. We were not really surprised that our daughter liked the food we ordered as she likes to eat flavorful food. I think she became curious about the food partly because of the fragrance and when she tasted the dishes she instantly was able to appreciate the taste. The food was good and the service, too. Their staff were attentive and helpful, which we liked because we had our little daughter with us. She can be a handful for a girl turning three this January. We will definitely be back for our Persian/Indian food cravings. Of course, we will be on the lookout for other restaurants offering this food as well and hopefully one closer to home.

Indian food craving in Singapore

We liked to eat Indian food whenever we were in Singapore and it helped that the city state has a sizeable Indian community, which is part of the multi-racial, diverse composition of Singaporean society. It is not difficult to find places where you can eat good Indian food there. We didn't really go for fancy Indian restaurants. The food courts and hawker markets where many people eat at are among the places where you can eat authentic Indian food without hurting your pockets.

On this recent trip to Singapore, we decided to get some Indian food at Lau Pa Sat. We went for some safe choices in the form of chicken biryani and chicken tikka. I saw somewhere on the counter a sign stating that the food was in the Hyderabad style. Hyderabad is one of the states in India. I will probably look up what exactly is meant by the food being prepared/cooked in the "Hyderabad style". I'm no food connoisseur so I didn't really notice a very significant difference from Indian food we had in other places like Lau Pa Sat before. The food was actually quite pedestrian compared to restaurant food but that's okay for us and we enjoyed our meal.
